Africycle has begun a new program in rural communities, allowing for bicycles to paid in instalments through village loans and savings groups. The outright purchase of a bicycle is a barrier to many households in accessing this valuable form of transportation. By working with these communities, Africycle is offering payment plans that allow individuals to pay for a bike over the course of 6 months. Smaller payments means families still have money to support their basic needs, while creating opportunities to generate more income, and save money in transport costs. Our pilot has seen more then 100 bikes go to women in rural communities with great success. By supporting Africycle, you can help us continue this valuable programming.
